Frequently Asked Questions

How does TCR Work?

TCR works by using a blend of high-density (HD) and low-density (LD) ceramic beads that actively regulate how heat moves through synthetic turf. HD beads spread heat laterally across the field, reducing hot spots, while LD beads absorb and slowly release moisture to enhance evaporative cooling. Together, they buffer temperature spikes, lower contact heat, and improve consistency across the field.

Is TCR safe?

Yes — TCR is made entirely from inert, inorganic ceramic materials that contain no microplastics, no chemical coatings, and no organic components. It does not rot, decompose, off-gas, or produce odors. TCR also does not support microbial growth and contains no respirable silica dust.

How is TCR different from coated sand or rubber?

Coated infills modify the surface of a material but retain core properties of sand or rubber — which can break down, soften, compact, or lose performance under heat. TCR is fundamentally different because the ceramic beads themselves provide the performance. Their thermal conductivity, heat capacity, and evaporative features come from the material, not a coating.

Does TCR Require water to work?

No. TCR performs in both dry and wet conditions. The ceramic beads’ heat-management properties work fully without added moisture. However, when moisture is present — from rain, irrigation, or morning dew — the LD beads create a slow-release evaporative cooling effect that enhances overall performance.

Is TCR compatible with all turf systems?

Yes  – TCR is designed as a universal upgrade for both new and existing synthetic turf fields. It integrates seamlessly with sand/rubber systems and works with all major turf brands. Whether used as a topcoat or a blended infill, TCR™ maintains field performance while enhancing heat behavior.

What sports benefit from TCR?

TCR benefits any sport played on synthetic turf, especially those with high foot-contact frequency, lateral movement, and extended practice times. Programs in hot-weather regions see the highest impact.
-Football, Soccer, Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Rugby, and multi purpose athletic fields.

How long does TCR Last?

Ceramic beads have a long operational lifespan due to their stability, hardness, and resistance to environmental breakdown. Unlike rubber or organics, they do not degrade with sun exposure, moisture, or microbial activity.

Does TCR change field playability?

TCR maintains the familiar feel of modern synthetic turf while adding thermal performance benefits. It does not soften the field, over-firm the surface, or impact ball roll/rebound outside of approved ASTM/EN tolerances.

Can TCR be mixed with existing infill?

Yes — TCR is highly effective when blended with common infills like sand, SBR, TPE, or EPDM. For retrofits, a topcoat layer is the most efficient installation method.

Mission

To revolutionize turf performance and safety through science-driven innovation and human-centered service — creating systems that keep athletes and communities cooler, safer, and better protected.

Vision

To set the new global standard for turf performance and safety — where innovation meets integrity, and every field reflects our commitment to the people who play on it and the partners who help build it.

Values

• Care Deeply — about people, the science, and doing things the right way.
• Stay Curious — ask questions, stay hands-on, and rethink what “normal” looks like.
• Act With Integrity — no shortcuts, no ego, just honest work that stands up anywhere.
• Build What Lasts — prioritize long-term impact over easy wins or fast noise.
• Collaborate Relentlessly — every project, partnership, and prototype is stronger when we build it together.

About Us

Encore Sports Systems is redefining the future of synthetic turf. Leveraging advanced heat-flux testing capabilities, we directly tackle one of the industry’s most dangerous and persistent problems — extreme surface temperatures.

Our proprietary, patent-pending ceramic infill is engineered to regulate heat by reducing upward radiation and convection, dramatically lowering the surface temperature athletes and communities experience. The result: cooler, safer fields that perform better under real-world conditions.

We’re not just product creators — we’re partners. Built on innovation, transparency, and hospitality, our approach goes beyond installation to build long-term relationships founded on trust and service.

We collaborate with developers, schools, and municipalities to elevate performance, safety, and industry standards. While we continue to expand our research, testing, and manufacturing capabilities, our purpose remains the same: protecting people and enhancing play through smarter design and genuine connection.

Positioning Statement

Encore Sports Systems bridges the gap between science and service in the turf industry. While others focus on coatings, cost, or claims, we combine innovation with integrity — creating solutions that protect people, enhance play, and elevate industry standards.
